The 2012 Bourland Olympiad

It wouldn't be summer without a miserably HOT Bourland family birthday party.  This year we celebrated Knox and Libby's 4th and 6th birthdays with an olympic themed party.  We had sack races, javelin throws, long jumps, and a big water balloon toss.
We were excited to host a party in our new backyard
 Let the competitions begin!

 Medal cookies and olympic cupcakes

The 4 and 6 shaped sparklers were a bit hard to light, but very fun!

More Beach

A few more beach pics...

Having the Oziers at the same resort was a BLAST!

And of course, time with Pammy is the best!

Dessert for the birthday girl!

The kids loved eating breakfast on the balcony

And watching TV after too much sun...

Little Dallas came over for a swim one day!

The thing that I will remember most about this trip is it is when Libby REALLY learned to swim.  Having had swim lessons just a few weeks before made all the difference

Pretend birthday

Libby and her friend Emily have Sumer birthdays so we decided to celebrate with a cookie cake with their school friends the last week of school.

Beach Trip!

In June, we took a great trip to Perdido Key.  We celebrated Libby's 6th birthday and had LOTS of fun swimming, beaching, golfing, shopping and of course... eating!  Pammy came with us to help, which was GREAT!

Surprise for Pammy!

Pammy retired from many years if teaching this spring. All her kids and grandkids drove up on a Friday night and surprised her.  She said it was the most surprised she had ever been!

We had a great time being all together!

The boys golfed

We slipped and slided...

We are so glad that Pammy will be able to spend LOTS more time with us now!

Kindergarten Wings Ceremony

Well, Libby is 3 months into 1st grade, so I figured it was about time I got around to posting her Kindergarten Graduation.  At her school, they called it a Wings Ceremony.  The class did several performances for us.  The first was a song about the solar system.

Libby received her wings from Mrs. Brown (their fairy godmother) and then got a big hug from Ms. Harmony, her teacher.
Leaving the halls of Lipman school for the last time.
Afterwards, we had a lovely lunch at the Smiths.  Food labels and cupcake toppers courtesy of Libbylu Designs.

Honey came to celebrate as well
We are all so proud of Libby and how she is flourishing in school!
And we are thankful for a very special year at Lipman School!
